Colorado Foxhunting

If you find yourself in Colorado and want to enjoy one of the most unique hunt territories in the US, we can arrange for you to join the hunt! With fields for riders wanting to go fast and slow across a territory of open plains and incredible views of the Rocky Mountains, this hunt is a truly unique experience. 

Riders can enjoy an advanced ride with jumping in First Field or a more relaxed non jumping ride in Second Field and with Hilltoppers. 

The hunt goes out on Wednesdays for an informal hunt and on Sundays for a formal hunt.

HORSES
The horses are supplied by one of the hunt's whippers in, they are a mix of thoroughbred and draft breeds. 

SETTING
The hunt country is all rolling grassland cut by three drainages: Box Elder Creek, Coal Creek, and Piney Creek. Willows and cottonwoods border the creeks and a number of foundations of old homesteads dot the fields. Expect expansive views of the beautiful Rocky Mountains as your backdrop!

Riders must be able to confidently control a horse in open space. 

ATTIRE

Wednesday- Ratcatcher Uniform: Tweed jacket, pastel shirt and patterned stock tie, beige, buff or rust breeches, vest optional, with tall boots and a helmet. 

Sunday- Formal Uniform: Tan breeches, white shirt, white stock tie, black wool coat (vented with 3 buttons), tall black boots, black helmet (velvet is traditional but not required), black gloves, canary or tattersall vest is optional.
