Grooming & Tacking Lessons

Mandatory for all riders

Horsemanship is at the heart of everything we do and these Grooming and Tacking Lessons are built to ensure all riders have the tools and knowledge to properly care for their horse.

Riders will be led through how to properly handle their horse, what each of the grooming tools are and how to use them, all the pieces of tack and how to properly fit them and more!

SCHEDULE
-Riders arrive at 10am are gather around the cross ties for an introduction
-A demonstration will be done for riders to see who we care for the horses
-Each rider will get a chance to practice their grooming and tacking

THE HORSES
There are a variety of breeds with different personalities, from spirited thoroughbreds to quieter draft breeds.

LEVEL
All riders need to attend in order to join Bootcamp, Bedford Hacks, Hunter Paces.

SETTING
State of the art equestrian facility with 160 private acres, just 90 minutes north of Manhattan. The facility has plenty of space for grooming and tacking horses with 5 wash stalls and 6 additional sets of cross ties in barn isles. 

INCLUDED

• A demonstration on the proper ways to groom and tack
• A chance to practice the skills yourself on a horse

ATTIRE
Casual barn attire, proper footwear is required.
