Wethersfield XC Hack

Spend an afternoon upstate for a truly unique riding experience.
The ride begins at Wethersfield Estate, where riders will enjoy approximately 1.5–2 hours hacking across stunning cross-country terrain. Expect a mix of relaxed group riding and light schooling over a variety of XC obstacles, with guidance from your host throughout.
Wethersfield offers a wide range of jumps at varying heights and difficulties, making it an ideal setting to build confidence in open space.
For those looking to extend the experience, consider heading over to the Millbrook Winery and even staying overnight at one of our recommended Airbnbs- Making it super easy to join Bootcamp the following day!
Schedule
- Arrive 15 minutes early to meet the group
- Ride start: horses unloaded, tack adjusted, and riders mounted
- ~2 hours in the saddle
- 15–30 minutes to return, cool down, untack, and load horses

Horses
Horses are trailered in for the ride and include a variety of breeds suited to open space riding, foxhunting, and hunter paces.
Options range from spirited Thoroughbreds to quieter draft breeds.
Setting
Wethersfield Estate spans over 1,000 acres of rolling hills in Dutchess County, NY. Created by Chauncey Devereux Stillman, the property reflects a deep appreciation for land, sport, and natural beauty.
The grounds feature a diverse cross-country course, including a water complex and a variety of natural and constructed obstacles.

Riders must be approved through a recent Bootcamp, if it has been more than 4 months since you have joined us for a lesson please book a lesson before this ride.
