Problem Solving for Open Space Jumping

Experiencing refusals on hunter paces or hacks? Wondering what tricks there are to help ensure you make it over a fence? Need some tools for how to adjust to a new horse on an open space ride to feel safe and confident to take jumps?
This clinic is meant to arm riders with the tools they need to safely and confidently make it over jumps on open space rides. Trainer Chelsea Nix will provide you with some mental and physical techniques for adjusting to new horses and avoiding refusals. She will also talk distance, riding your horse intentionally and having the awareness you need to be successful on open space rides.
You should be a confident arena rider and capable of doing lower level arena jumps.
What to expect:
-90 minutes riding instruction
-Confident arena rider and jumper wanting to advance to XC
-Ability to groom and tack
About Chelsea Nix:
Chelsea is a passionate creative teacher who is known for using a variety of techniques to get the most out of her horses and riders. She approaches her students as individuals adjusting her technique to match individual learning styles and has many “Chelsea-isms” which bring laugher and clarity to the learning process. Her emphasis is on safety and pushing comfort zones in order to grow her riders, so they can meet their individual goals. Most of Chelsea’s students have been with her for nearly 10 years since she moved from her Wall St job living in Greenwich Village to founding and creating Penwick nearly 8 years ago in Northwestern NJ.
