Mohonk Preserve Hack
Sunday, March 21st, 10am
Enjoy the cool, forested trails and sweeping views from open fields down to the valley below. Riding along 19th-century carriage roads, you’ll feel you’ve stepped back in time... and into nature. Wider than most horseback riding trails elsewhere, our carriage roads have less foot traffic – and no cars (except for the occasional ranger truck).
If you have spent most of your riding career in an arena, testing your skills in the open space can be both exhilarating and intimidating. This ride offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in natures true beauty on horses that are trained for this environment and in a small and accommodating group.
Experience: Rider can post the trot and has cantered before, can be suitable for first open space ride.
Recommendations: Casual riding attire, must bring helmet. If you are considering a hunter pace or foxhunting, you should first join us on a Bedford Hack to meet the horses and our group.
Location: Spring Farm Trailhead, Mohonk Preserve
