Intro to Indoor Polo Lesson
Exclusive access to one of New York’s finest polo clubs for MRC riders to learn how to play indoor polo from professional players! Come find out what it feels like to swing a mallet, hit a polo ball and ride a trained polo pony in a friendly and welcoming environment with MRC!
You will have 1 hour in the saddle getting to know your horses and learning some stabilizing tips for polo-style riding. Polo is a little like playing golf in an earthquake, but in our lesson, we will learn how to put all of the riding and swinging together to hit the ball through the goal! Come enjoy this unique opportunity to learn the exciting game of polo.
5:15PM- Riders arrive to meet the trainer and select a mallet, horses are tacked by the polo grooms
5:30PM- Riders mount to begin the lesson
6:15PM- 15 minutes of friendly chukkas to finish the lesson
6:30PM- Lesson ends, riders cool down horses and head back into the barn
Most of the polo ponies are Thoroughbred mares with the temperament and skill for polo. They are all very well trained, accustomed to the mallet, tack and polo style of riding.

The NYC Polo Club is home to professional and amateur players from NYC to Westchester. Their facilities are build specifically for the sport and offer riders a premier training ground. The polo instructors all have professional playing experience and know the sport inside and out.

Comfortable riding pants or jeans (white pants not required). Tall boots or short boots with chaps to help with grip and protection. Helmet. Riding gloves or other grippy gloves, helps with holding the mallet.
