Learn to Hack
Have you been taking lessons in the arena and are now looking to gain some instruction for riding outdoors? This Hack Lesson will focus on providing tools to riders for how to handle various types of terrain, what to look out for when riding in open space and how to handle the changes you may see in your horse when leaving the arena.
If your goal is to eventually join a Bedford Hack or other off site, open space ride, this lesson will help to prepare you and also let our instructors know if you are ready. Although off site hacks are for Level 3 riders, the Hack Lesson is a nice opportunity for Level 2 riders to start preparing for the open space alongside their arena lessons that will further develop their overall skill set.
The hack lessons are also a great first open space ride for Level 3 riders ahead of joining their first off site ride.

About Rounded Crest Farm
Run by Galloping Guru, this state-of-the-art equestrian facility sits on 160 acres of rolling land with panoramic views. There are 2 large outdoor rings with rubber and sand footing, a cross country schooling field and a large heated indoor arena with manicured sand and fiber footing. The indoor has a viewing room, kitchenette and bathroom with wifi available for riders!
The property has been the backdrop three times for movie and TV productions and is just minutes to the Village of Pawling, a quaint upstate, bucolic 18th century village. The charming village offers fine dining, boutique shops, antique stores, cultural attractions and a farmer's market every Saturday from June to September. Pawling has its very own Metro North station stop, just 90 minutes by train or car to NYC.
